Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is a niche wherein is a lamp— the lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a glittering star— lit from a blessed olive tree, neither eastern nor western, whose oil almost lights up, though fire should not touch it. Light upon light. Allah guides to His Light whomever He wishes. Allah draws parables for mankind, and Allah has knowledge of all things. Surah An-Nur (24:35)
The awe-inspiring ayah of Surah An-Nur (Chapter 24, Verse 35) of the Noble Quran serve as the inspiration for a center that seeks to transform the community with the light of knowledge and faith. The concept of Our Creator, Allah, addressing Himself as ‘The Light’ and then promising to guide the righteous to this light, inspired a dedicated group of people to develop a center that disseminates this radiance to the whole world. And thus was born Nur ‘Ala Nur Academy – an Islamic Knowledge Centre with the aim to spread the beauty and glory of Allah (سبحانه و تعالى), His Knowledge and His Book.
Nur ‘Ala Nur Academy has come a long way since its inception in early 2011. The brainchild of Puan Aishah Hood and her son, En. Admi Shazman Bin Ismail Zakri, it was formerly known as Madrasah Nuur. For two years, Madrasah Nuur dedicated itself to providing knowledge of Islamic Studies, free of charge, to all its students as a means of garnering more reach and awareness.
In March 2013, the Madrasah was reborn as Nur ‘Ala Nur Academy – a fee-based tuition centre that is based on an Academic Year comprising of three Semesters, starting in January, May and September respectively. Nur ‘Ala Nur Academy remains committed to spreading the light of knowledge with a nominal fee imposed solely for the purpose of maintenance and ensuring greater and more serious dedication to this noble task.
The main goal of the Academy is to welcome children and adults to read, learn and implement the teachings of the Noble Quran into their lives.
